globalization of electricity [RE-wrenches]

One of the beauties of solar is that it is so locally adaptable.  Why
would you consider putting solar out in a pristine desert with the added
expense and detriment of a huge transmission infrastructure when you can
just put it on your roof?  Coal plants need to be far away for obvious
reasons, (or should I say unobvious reasons).  Solar gets a 10 on low
transmission costs.  We just did another 6KW sunslate installation on a
remote resort.  That is an aesthetically incredible product!  Roofs are
the future when you're looking at the globalization of electricity.
