[RE-wrenches - array strings for Sun-tie inverters] [RE-wrenches]

We have installed other grid interactive inverters designed for high voltage
strings which allows installing lots of modules at lower currents and small
wire sizes. We just received our first 2500 watt Trace Sun-Tie inverter for
a demo project and found out (after the fact!) that it is based on 48 volt
strings only.

We have read many threads in recent postings blasting this inverter, but
most of these were related to low efficiency or over-heating. Were there
reasons Trace based this unit on low array voltage when everyone else is in
the 100 to 400 volt D.C. range. What's the deal?
