You also have the power curve of the generator to 'MPPT'. I don't think the
PV MPPT can be compared to a generator motor controller. Call it
experience...

this has been discussed, and the problem with using MPPT on wind is 
that the response of a wind turbine is very different from a PV.  It 
has inertia.  There is some potential value in using buck and boost 
techniques to alter the operating voltage, but the best tactic is to 
use a pre-programmed power/speed curve rather than to 'seek' the best 
power.
