Hi William;

Yes I have had problems with both. Old style controllers (1999 and older)
were much more susceptible to lightning damage. Ron's new design not only
brings the sensitive electronics down off the array and to the pole, he
added surge arrestors too. I have had zero controller probs since. He will
upgrade older models for a very nominal fee.
In 99, he had a bad batch of azimuth drives that gave me fits. They would
go bad in days with replacements not lasting either, I thought I had some
other prob until I took an old american made drive and it worked fine.
Everything they have made in the past year and a half has been great ie.-
No service calls lately. The Wattsun 2 axis tracker will pickup sunrise at
the summer solstice and take you all the way to sunset accurately enough
for a 20 power concentrator, then at dusk it resets itself to the east for
the next day. Their slick. (I reset the azimuth stops for winter, so that
the unit doesn't try to track behind itself.)
By the way Zomeworks sucks. I have NEVER installed any of their equipment
without having real problems. Take your own machine shop and hardware store
with you if you plan to install Zomeworks products. I have always been
short bolts and hardware,I always have to touch up thier instant flake off
paint, I have redrilled holes half the time, I have welded in the feild 3
times, I have replaced leaky freon tubes with their bogus retro repair
setup 4 times and They still don't track right if their is any wind at the
site or if the array and cabling are not balanced just so. Oh, add
incessant shipping difficulties and service assistance that is downright
hostile and you've got a company in need of restructuring.
