  I  too am conflicted, seems that our/your prospects already have a list 
of good installers...... its called the WRENCH LIST for good reasons.
I believe we already had to be scrutinized by our moderator.
     Those of us who are I2p members pay for the addition to another list 
(among other things).
      I am a professional and I believe that SOME sort of standardized 
certification  for competency, similar to your mechanic, no thats your auto 
TECHNICIAN  would go a long way. ( Automotive Service Excellence)
   Joel,  I don't know you from Adam but if you ARE an installer & if you 
are on this list then you do have some creditability w/ me.I would 
say  this to a prospect, " He is on the W/L but I recommend  that you get a 
list of  some of his costumers, for their comments on his work."
     The quality of your work might not be acceptable to me and visa versa, 
we teach classes for the State of Maine on code compliant  solar installs 
but that might NOT make us good installers! The quality of the work on our 
mobile class room shows how we do our installs as well as the list we are 
happy to give prospects. We have nothing to hide, we do our installs for 
the next electrician / solar installer  that looks at our work and says 
Damn that guy is anal,nice work.Really most folks don't have any idea what 
a good job is but most every 1 on this list does!
  WE ARE PROS !
