Hugh:

I think it says in the book that pressing the recessed reset button on the
display while not in menu 3 will reset the display but not the inverter
parameters.  Check it out.

FWIW, I am not recommending the PS series inverters to my clients.  By the
time you add the cost of the remote the savings are not that much over an
SW inverter.
