PS remote display malfunction [RE-wrenches]

Hi

I am having problems with the display on a power station inverter - 
the second line is gone.  I understand that the display can be 
affected by plugging / unplugging when powered up.  I switched the 
inverter off and unplugged/plugged it but no joy.  I do not want to 
take away the battery voltage since I would lose settings and I am 
not sure it would get the display working again to reset them.

ideas?
