We've sold a great many of Dan's Canadian-made Solar Converters the past
couple years. They've got an excellent track record and very rarely
fail...unlike some US-made DC to DC converters and LCB devices we've all
stumbled over. Windy, I'm surprised you of all people haven't given
Dan's stuff a try.  When he first hit the market a few years ago, he was
WAY too expensive, but the US to Canada dollar exchange has made his
stuff a real bargain now. His stuff isn't always real pretty, and tends
to come in off-the-shelf electrical boxes, but my experience has been
that it's some of the most dependable DC hardware out there.

  Now, that said, I also need to say there's nothing more dependable
than big wire. But big wire isn't going to effectively charge the 48v
battery pack from the 24v wind turbine that started this thread.
