Trace/Onan starting [RE-wrenches]

I have been keeping these Onan notes, as two days ago I did a service call
involving the same problem. In this case the Trace started and stopped the
Onan without problem from the menu bar. But the Onan remote in the home
could not also start and stop the unit. As such, I couldn't manually start
the generator with the SW in EQ mode to manually initiate an EQ of the
batteries.
The client is not savvy enough to handle a workaround with the inverter
(it's now a rental home).
Any tips on paralleling Onan's factory remote or on-unit start switch with
the SW? Thank you.
