About a week ago a local inspector gave me a hard time
over a recent installation. He asked me to
demonstrate to him that the SW5548 inverter could
power the backed up subpanel while not sending any
voltage to the grid. I set the inverter to float mode
and showed him 120v at the subpanel. When I went to
the ac disconnect, which was in the open position, my
meter showed ~24v ac hot to ground on the inverter
side of the switch.
I asked one of the tech support guys at Trace about
this and he said it was "noise" and that there was no
power behind the voltage.
Can anyone contribute a little more to this so I might
be able to better explain this in the future?
