E-Meter on 36V system [RE-wrenches]

Wrenches,
   I am planning to hook up an E-Meter on a golf cart and a 36 V Electric 
tractor.  It seems that under 50 V max system voltage, I can connect the 
meter without a prescaler and just have to hook up the meter power with 12 to 
24 volts off the battery.  I fried one when I hooked it up to a 48 volt 
system with a prescaler but forgot about the meter power.  I won't do THAT 
again.  This will be my first installation on an EV.  Anything to watch out 
for?
