Kohler 25/30 kw 3 phase [RE-wrenches]

Hi Wrenches,

We have a customer that has an old Kohler generator that he bought to back 
up his solar system.  Unfortunately he didn't read the nameplate when he 
bought it, and so did not learn that it is a 3 phase unit.

Locally, we tried to have it changed over to single phase, which is 
theoretically possible.  Unfortunately the single phase exciter for the 
unit is no longer available.  Does anyone know where we might get a single 
phase exciter for a:

Kohler 1800 RPM generator.

25KW continuous	30 KW standby

Model #  30R82	91606 A5.28.29.42



If it can't be converted, where might we advertise to sell it.  Doesn't 
California have a generator shortage at present?
