approved disconnects [RE-wrenches]

Concerning the disconnect that PG&E requires; does anyone know if it
would be acceptable to use the disconnect that is the main service
entrance, which is a lockable and located at the pole and disconnects
the entire house from the utility, or do I need a dedicated lockable
disconnect? It would sure save a lot of energy on this particular job
to tie into the customers manual transfer switch(for
generator,located in garage)instead of all the other stuff I'd need
to provide a separate one.Carl Reuter
