inverter generator match [RE-wrenches]

Wrenches:
I have a customer with a Trace 1524 inverter and a Kawasaki 3200 watt
generator.  When the generator starts up, the Trace inverter after  60
seconds will go into bulk charge only for a second, then it will revert
to inverter mode.  The battery voltage is about 24.5 volts, the
frequency is slightly high, about 62 hz, but according to Trace not out
of range, and the generator voltage is about 112 volts.  The inverter
charges properly on the grid and it charges properly with a different
generator.  Is there something peculiar about the Kawasaki  generators
that could cause such a problem?  Has anyone else had similar
