On Gaiam [RE-wrenches]

Very interesting, this Gaiam venture. Doug Pratt, now I know why you
might need somebody to talk to. What a hodge podge they have going. Is
this supposed to be something similar to Amazon.Com, you think, for all
the trendy New Age snoots? Even more, a digital Sears Roebuck for
eco-litists? Don't get me wrong. I'm all for sensible ecological
policy, etc. But burning incense in the battery room is a bit much.
The bed linens look nice, though. What a potpourri of stuff. I'm still
quite happy with a good stogie and a cold bottle of beer at the town tap
myself.

I can really appreciate a purist's frustration at getting buried in an
eclectic shopping bag like this. This would not appear to be the best
environment for a real "wrench." You know, Illinois really isn't so bad
for about eight months a year. We still have a few real hardware stores
too.
