[RE-wrenches] Blue planet energy wants confidential client data

William: That doesn't make any sense to me either. All they should need to
set up remote monitoring is the MAC (Media Access Control) address of the
Blue Planet network interface hardware (NIC), which is specific to the
exact BP BMU hardware box serial # you have. Then usually just have the NIC
(not just Blue Planet, anything--OpticsRE, a wifi printer, Alexa etc.) get
its own *local* IP address from your wifi router dynamically with DHCP,
though sometimes assigning a static local IP (192.168.x.x) prevents weird
traffic conflicts.

What exact Client wifi login credentials did BP ask you for? I don't see
how those would do them any good for BMU monitoring unless they are parked
outside your house.

Perhaps their tech support used confusing wording in their request? That
would not be a surprise, they speak in an entirely new language and
vocabulary to me, in which I am NOT fluent, I only know enough to get by
getting devices to communicate online, and maybe ask where the bathroom
is....
