yes, each 2kw battery module has on-board electronics which the BMU regulates, trying to maintain equal charge/discharge. This is viewable real-time in the BI HV Ageto controller display (per BMU cabinet).
My particular HV install has a 50' DC bus w/ inputs and outputs attached at various points. No consideration to cable lengths required.

One solar self consumption system I let run over the winter without ever reaching a full charge and the cabinets didn’t drift more than 10% SOC from each other. Blue planet does recommend a full charge at least once per month for balancing though. Matched cable length, again assuming properly sized, really doesn’t matter anymore.

OK so please explain how the BMU/BMS is controlling watt hrs between the batteries as I’ve not heard that this is possible.
