[RE-wrenches] Exploding LFP battery

Hi Bill

I guess the photo I included didn’t work. I’ll try again as it shows the battery model etc. this is a 300 amp hr 48v Relion that has fasteners to remove the top. 
The volts were 5vdc, and had been working that day. 
It’s inside, in a relatively cool, sub 85f condition, dry space. 
Age is pretty new but no specs on that. 
As to over under charge voltage, rate the BMS is supposed to take care of that. 

No contacts or cables were touched or disconnected prior to top removal. And in the photo is clear that it’s designed such that top install removal won’t touch any conductors or batteries. 

I’m under no illusions that everything we do or  work with is safe. My comment is based in that  I continue to hear that LFP can’t fail and explode. 
Something in there did. And I’m pretty sure electronics such as a Bms doesn’t have anything in it that could explode like
This.
