Hey Corey,

             We almost always use the labels and placards from PV-Labels 
and have had about the same result as it appears you did in your test.  
Of course they last much longer when out of the sun.  There are a 
variety of "label-maker" tapes (Brady brand), we mostly use vinyl the 
few times we need to use them in an exposed location.  Do you happen to 
remember which type of material your labels were?
