[RE-wrenches] Reliable 48 to 24 V DC to DC reducer

I’ve run into this problem numerous times in the last year, as I’ve had a number of off-grid customers that I have upgraded from legacy 12V or 24V systems to 48V. Left behind are often things like expensive DC fridges and DC heating pumps. I’ve searched for converters a number of places and have found that eBay (and Amazon) have a ton of DC-DC converters available. Yes they are Chinese, and the many different brands seem to be clones of one another, so It’s hard to pick one with confidence. I was suspicious of them at first, but have several out in the field that have worked well for some time now. Most are in the 10-20A output current range, but there are bunch of different voltage configurations available. Just do a search on eBay with your desired voltages and you’ll pull something up. For the 48-12V conversion range, the solution I’ve settled on is golf cart DC-DC converters, which tend to be high quality and are designed to run 12V lights and accessories from 48V golf cart battery banks. I find these on eBay as well and have had great luck with them.
