[RE-wrenches] SMA Sunny Boy Display Window

Is all the polishing done on the outside of the display?  You'd think
the folks at SMA could have used glass.  I've had my local glass guy cut
me special sized UV/automotive glass that I then secure to the inside of
the indentation around the display window with 3M 2-sided outdoor-rated
tape, costs ~$12.  Those have only been out there for about 5 years,
I'll report back in another 5 years .

I also just started using a UV rated window 'film' which is
similar to the that little strip of plastic you peel off the display of
an SBX.0-40 after installation.....maybe we should leave that factory
plastic strip on!?

Occasionally , we go nuts and build a very well vented
cabinet around it.  In the pic, that lower board hinges down over display
