[RE-wrenches] My .02 - 12/24v garage door opener.....

Hi all,   perhaps a bit of clarification might help.    1) the location of the garage is in a block of flats/units where all the garages are at the end of the row and it is not possible to get a.c. into the end unit of 4 garages without having to obtain permission of all the other 3 garage owners, which has its own complications and is highly unlikely.
2) it is not being approached as a *cost saving* measure as someone suggested.  It is merely a practical application where a.c. is not available.
3) another person mentioned that it is high energy use for a short time, therefore the total energy per day is low.
4) am I to understand that there is no readily available *off-the-shelf* solution for a 12/24v garage door opener??

Not even going to mention building code and running DC wiring outside of the area (battery/inverter/chargers location) an inspector would allow.
Even some of the very rural/extreme remote counties I work in know that they are ill-equipped to inspect DC wiring. Some will tell you there is no inspection for offgrid homes but if there is a fire they will say they told the installer no DC wiring except in the area of the battery.
