warranty issues [RE-wrenches]

I'm w/William 100%. A solar system does not have 1000's of moving parts like a car (and some are offering 10yr/100,000mi warranties!) there is no reason that an inverter should not last as long as on-board computers in cars, I see an auto as having a much more hostile enviroment than the side of a house. 
Products do not mature and improve if the manu is not held accountable and cover the cost of their design shortcomings. The 1st inverter manu to offer realistic time compensation will own the market and the rest will simply have to follow or get out of the way. At the same time, I don't expect the manu's to pay for the travel time on systems that were sold far from the dealer's home base. I think a flat fee of $200 for each service call is fair to both parties IMHO.
