I've been going through this myself for the last year (again) and at this time it seems the best solution is up to 9 (3 per phase) Outbacks is the best we can do. In my case I'm using 3 Power Centers each dedicated to its own battery bank and loads. A pain and less than ideal but all alternatives that I found were worse yet. A big UPS is not suited for this at all, due to numerous issues with amazing inefficiency topping the list. You can stack up the very reliable and solid Exceltec 1kW modules 'til the cows come home but you also stack up no to low load losses too, 30kW inverter stack is 7kWh/day!
SatCon has offered to make one if you're willing to pay for their software development of $37,000 (that's one heck of a lot of engineering time for a tweak to something they've done once already!) and then about $1.3/W cost. All followers get to skate on the NRE costs but 1st in line takes it on the chin and it's not me.
Then there is AES in Austrailia they've been doing it for some time with biggies, I used one of their 100kW units several years ago. No fond memories of that experience, 'nuf said about AES in this forum already....
Please keep us posted to any sweet solutions you discover.
Good luck,
