Conduit inside the tracker pole [RE-wrenches]

How about stubbing the underground PVC conduit through the pole flange, just up
into the bottom of the pole. As Matthew Tritt and Matt Lafferty have suggested,
use the pole as a conduit. Come out of the pole into the back of the combiner
box or into an LB conduit body below the combiner box, if you prefer to enter it
through the bottom. Providing two hand holes, with gasketed covers, top and
bottom, will help with the LB installation and allow the wire to be pulled more
easily when the pole is already mounted in place. This would also facilitate
adding future, additional or larger conductors and LB, if the underground
conduit is sufficiently oversized. If you go with an LB, make sure it's rated
for the size and number of conductors you need.

Questions and details:

We thought we could stop the conduit a foot or so of where the combiner 
box will be mounted and cut a hole and add a bushing to get inside the 
pole. Basically the bend of wire from the bushing to the upright 
conduit would NOT be in conduit.

Can you see problems or code issues with this?
