I belive the theory here is that your generator is running too fast unless
it has a load to slow it down.  the converse could be that if you slow it
down to so as to fit within the inverter frequency window unloaded, when
you load it, it may drop below the frequency window.

I understand that generators need to be de rated by 50% in UPS systems.
This may be true for smaller generators in inverter systems.  If the
continuous amp rating of your generator is 19 or so, you may want to set
the inverter to take 10 or 12.  This way the load range is not so wide and
you may be able to regulate the generator frequency to stay within the
acceptance window.

The only way to know what frequency your generator is making during the
cycling is to connect a frequency counter to the generator itself.  The
trace only reads the frequency of the accepted source.  If your generator
is currently rejected, the Trace won't be reading it.
