Sparks,
I wish I was on this list 8 years ago when I was regularly burning up smart
interfaces (at $200 a pop) and dealing with a string of answering machines
running on my 12v system with the atrocious hum. I finally gave up the fight
when the phone company supplied voice mail. I am still fascinated with using
an interconnect device to allow a normal home phone system all connected to a
bag phone. It worked well but the 12v power source was causing overheating
of the unit. Not being a high tech electronics technician, it was beyond my
ability to figure out what was happening. I had to cease the experiment
before I got too much money tied up in it. I had extension phones, and fax
machine connected directly to it. Do you have any knowledge on the cellular
interface systems?
John
