Just a note reminding you that fans do a much better job of sucking air
than they do pushing it. As such, the placement of a fan at the termination
of any exhaust ducting will produce the best flow of air. Blowers, on the
other hand, are better suited for dealing with the static pressure of air
in the inlet end of an enclosure.
If you have to choose between pressurizing and evacuating a battery
enclosure, always try to use the evacuation method, as any leaks in the
envelope will not become hydrogen sulfide sources.
Let gravity do as much of the work as possible. Just consider your venting
plumbing as an upside-down sewer pipe. Try to have as much vertical run as
you can, and make sure that there are never any horizontal runs that don't
have a good upward pitch to them.
Of course, explosion is only one reason to want to vent charging gases, as
hydrogen sulfide is also corrosive as well as stinky.
But then, you already knew all this....
