Jumping in,

I have sold Emeters almost exclusively and have seen some glitches which
seem to self correct in a short time, particularlly in the "percent
charge" mode, which I prefer over "time remaining".  Mostly I think
people get into trouble with Emeters by programing more than battery
capacity and end of charge voltage after setting up the meter (like
Pluk#!$ert's formula).  If I understand correctly, three things have to
happen for the battery to be "considered" fully charged.  Amp/hrs
returned to the battery, Battery voltage above set voltage setting, and
end of charge current met.  Grid-tied systems with battery and Emeter
get off pretty far in terms of accumulated amp/hrs unless you set the
voltage below float, which is the wrong place for it when used to meter
battery during extended power outtages, the only real reason to have
it.  If the meter does accumulate extra amp hours, they are gone and the
meter reads correctly as soon as there is a power outtage and a couple
amp/hrs come out of the battery.  

I like the Emeter.  We've only heard good things about the Tri-metric. 
Any Tri-metrics out there than have preformed less than perfect?
