Desulfators [RE-wrenches]

Back to RE. Strictly on-topic.
No conclusion yet on desulfators. Test has been slow to get started, and so
has not yet yielded any negative results :)
The SolarTech people say that for an RE system, where we can take several
cycles to reduce the sulfate, that their standard unit will take up to
between 1500 and 2000 amp hours at 24V. For motive type battery
applications, they recommend their heavy duty unit above 800 amp hours
They do not affect the C-40 controllers. We did have some interaction with
Solar Converters MPPT controllers, but Dan has supposedly taken care of
that. We now have a Solar Converters MPPT unit working, but have not put it
on a set of batteries with a desulfator.

Let's see if we can't get this discussion back to RE and get Kim settled
down.
What conclusion did we come to on desulfators?
Would it be safe to say that they might be "magic" and really don't do
anything but at least they won't hurt batteries? I wonder if they might
affect PWM charge controllers?
Are they effective for AGM's as well?
What about size and brand? Innovative Energy has the DS-1000 for up to
1000
amp hours. What if you have 12 L-16's on a 24 volt system (350x3=1050)?
Do you need 2?
