Which brand, or technology, is better than the rest?
Do they require power all the time, or can power be shut off when the TV is
 off?
How many watts do they consume in addition to the TV?
Do they need sine wave power?

We run a Dish system hear on a SW trace. No problems low power 35 w. Suspect
they should be run on a power strip to avoid phantom loads. My guess is they
will run on mod square wave form too, though I have not tried. Consider this
a sample of one, not much depth.
