Roy,
We haven't found one. We either suggest the voice mail service of their
local phone provider, or we put in a converter. Zane is the only co I know
of who makes an adjustable-output step-down DC converter, and it is pretty
reliable, but they have become such a pain in the arse to deal with I gave
up on their products. AEE carries their 8A version, but not the cheaper 2A
model that fits in a SG box.
The other conversion choice is to use a 12V DC phone with a fixed-output
converter. We've had 100% success with ICT units, available through Hutton
Communications (Mark Billets @303-984-9300 X101). ICT makes 2.5, 5, 10, 15,
20, and 40A units with 13.8V output. They're pretty cheap, too.
