Good you brought up the adhesive lining in shrink tubing. Many 
installers don't realize that non-lined shrink tubing will not seal 
battery terminals. Besides that point, adhesive lining is what makes 
submersible pump splices totally waterproof.

Speaking of which, Scotchcote may work as a substitute for 
adhesive-lined shrink tubing, but don't get carried away and use on 
submersible splices please. If it's not fully hardened by process of 
evaporation in air, then when it is submersed, it won't ever harden, 
and won't provide a seal under pressure.

You didn't imply submersible application, Sharkey, but I thought I'd 
throw this in as a warning.
