SW4048 giving me grief [RE-wrenches]

Just to add another 2 cents worth -
The newest Dewalt chargers are happy with about any
kind of power.  But if the Dewalt charger is more than
a couple years old, it will fry on anything short of
sinewave.  On mod-sine, the older ones will buzz
loudly for a few seconds and quit.  Actually only an
internal fuse blows.  I have repaired several of
these.  The trick is getting the thing open.  They use
"quit-trying-to-open-this-and-go-buy-a-new-charger"
type screw heads.  A torx bit works once you break out
the tamper resistant pin.

of a blown FET in that SW...but wouldn't you need an
extremely poor waveform to blow one of those chargers?
I run my DeWalt chargers off of my Trace DR3624 all
the time...even while running my cheapo Coleman
Powermate 5KW genset for battery charging. We even run
the DeWalts off of a 1000 watt PortaWattz while in
remote locations...still no problem. My point is...I'd
bet Donna will find that it's the generator that's the
culprit here...providing dirty power to those
chargers, and not the SW inverter.
