I did a job last summer with a standard AC pump at 500' lift.  We used dual
3624's and they ran it with no problem along with the restt of the house's
loads.  A 3624 out surges a 4024.  I think you should consider a dual PS2524
also.  That will give your customer the auto gen start option in the future
by adding a module to the PS.  I did all the math on a recent quote and you
can put a dual PS setup together for less than $6000 (retail) with DC
circuit breakers, PS conduit housings, inverter bypasses etc. Basically a
site built Power Panel is what I put together.

Sounds like you have a pretty tough job to quote on your hands.  

You could remote start the generator with a simple setup especially if the
generator is already a two-wire start type.
