Ampair 100 charge control [RE-wrenches]

The lowest cost good shunt regulator can be made from the Trace C-40
control.  You put a load where solar usually goes and set it up for
diversion and that works.  Just be sure the load you connect will not pass
more than 35 amps at the set voltage, otherwise the control will shut down
and not regulate at all, even if only 3 amps is actually flowing. The
diversion control set up at the battery on adequate size short wire will
work better than most windmill contained regulators.
