Travis,
Do not disconnect the self defrost feature!!!!   It will work fine for about
2 days but the efficiency of the unit quickly drops.   If anything change
the defrost timer to one with a longer setting or make sure it has a temp
sensor located on the coil to prematurely stop defrost.
