Todd,
    You are totally right about the education needing to be done first.  The 
good news from my problem customer is that after the fact he is allowing me 
to educate him  now .  He still likes the idea of being off grid and with the 
electric hot water heater disconnected, his system is running relatively 
normal.  They are going to install a wood heating stove in the livingroom 
(they were going to have a fireplace in their original plan) to minimize 
running the hot air furnace.  He may still hook up to the grid if the cost is 
low enough and keep the system as a backup and net metering solar.  The good 
news yesterday as I checked my messages is that I have a new customer lined 
up who hasn't finished planning his new house and wants info first.
This one will get done in the right order.

To all of you out there, don't worry about being too critical.  The reason we 
have this forum is to learn and possibly reaffirm what we do know.  Thanks 
for the comments.
