OK, I'm sending you out a piece of the UL and non-UL stuff today. I 
tend to agree with Bob Ellison that the "acid test" doesn't 
necessarily tell us much, but am at a loss as to what other tests to 
do EXECPT for voltage leakage through the insulation.
It's fairly ridiculous anyway. While a "paper electrician" seeking to 
justify has paycheck might make a case for inverter to battery 
cables, the batteries themselves are not required to be UL listed. If 
the manufacturer chooses to provide interconnects (bussbar, etc) it 
probably meets Code. Yet if you use any other non UL wire or copper 
bussbar for series/parallel interconnects, it does not? Absurd.
Again, it all boils down to using quality gear. I've seen imported, 
UL listed, receptacles and switches that weren't worth the effort it 
took to throw them in the trashbin. So have y'all.
