I recommend draining the plumbing at the first sign of freezeing weather.
That's what I have done for the last 25 years, works like a charm and uses
no energy from your battery bank.
Remeber the zen proverbs:
Summer- Haul water, chop wood
Winter - Chop water, haul wood
