Trace/Kohler light flicker [RE-wrenches]

Hi Joe et al
sounds to me like the AVR requires adjustment - did the guy check
this??
I'm not familiar with Kohler generators, or what the alternator make
is; down here 90% of gensets have an AVR and this can require tweaking
at times.
Firstly run the set on no load and check that the speed is correct and
stable.
Then turn the stability control potentiometer (phew!) clockwise, then
turn it slowly anticlockwise until the generator voltage starts to
become unstable. The correct setting is just slightly clockwise from
this position (ie where the machine volts are stable but close to the
unstable region).
