We will soon be adding a 60 Amp lockable disconnect to a 5kw PV array with
 (2) Trace SW4024's so the homeowner can sell into the utility grid.
This is our first experience with net-metering so we are in need of some
guidance on the proper settings of the inverters for Menu headings (17)
BATTERY SELLING and (18) GRID USAGE TIMER.

David, In all the grid tied systems I've done, I keep it simple. Keep the
trace defaults, except ,set the inverter mode to SEL. I know there has been a
tremendous amount of discussion about reducing overhead with respect to
floating the batteries. Honestly people create more problems with the arcane
setup profiles I've heard.
Since you don't want your charge controller cutting in you must set its
control point above the Trace bulk set point. I like the Traces Float set
point, but you might want to drop the bulk value and set its time to 10 min.
I advise my customers to test the system once a month by shutting the main
off for an hour or so. This excercises the batteries and gives them a little
gassing to keep thing from stratifying.
Hope this helps, Best
Don
