Solar Hot Water [RE-wrenches]

It sounds like we (RE-Wrenches) have quite a bit of interest in adding solar
water heating to our discussion. We have been doing SDWH since we started.
What does anyone think about taking the potentially new list a little bit
further. We (RE-Wrenches) often are the only people on the job site who
have the expertise to recommend construction techniques, appliances,
building orientation etc. We typically are the only ones who care to point
out to the customer when they are making obvious mistakes. I am very
interested in others experience in helping with the whole project.
I would like to talk about the "wholistic" building approach. Primarily as
it relates to energy efficiency and secondarily the buildings overall
environmental impact during construction and afterwards.
I have limited experience with many building techniques and would like to
hear others experience with
Earth Contact or Semi-Bermed
SIP (structural insulated panels)
ICF (insulated concrete forms)
Passive Solar
Masonry Wood Heaters
Outdoor wood fired water heaters
Grey water systems
and all kinds of other things
Would anyone else care to make the Solar water heating list open to some
other energy efficiency topics?
