E meter [RE-wrenches]

I have been trusting my E meter  to keep track of 6 Decka L 16 batteries in a
grid back up (no generator) 12v system.
The other day I was seeing low voltages from a 100% charged battery. It was not.
The specific gravity was 1.200 in a cells. 
Has anyone else see this? 
I intend to use my hydrometer more often.
