We used to use the E Meter, until Bogart Engineering came out with the TM
2020 with a "percent of full" reading. Since then, we've switched
exclusively to Trimets except to get rid of old e meter stock. Reasons?
Better and more easily understood historical information (Cumulative AH,
Highest & lowest voltage since reset which really tells the tale on
controller setpoints and battery use/abuse)
Four wires instead of five. Its easy to get 4 conductor wire, from
phone cable to lawn sprinkler controls. Finding that fifth conductor puts
you into specialized wire.
One fuse instead of two
Longer runs on smaller wire
Ability to use 100 amp shunts for micro systems
Ability to program battery efficiency
And the #1 best reason to go with Trimetrics?
When you call their number, Ralph answers the phone!!!!
