Yes, using AC 1 & 2 will work, but you'd have to prioritize the inputs to
produce the desired effect. If you wanted only to backfeed the grid with,
say 20 or less amps AC, or do some light battery charging, you would turn
on the AC 1 input (through a relay). If you needed to pass lots of AC from
the grid through the inverter (I'd have to think hard of a reason to do
that, UPS service perhaps, or hammering the batteries after draining them
dry), the AC 2 input could carry the full current on the 60 amp breaker.
Come to think of it, the maximum chrging current on the AC side is 30
amps... A simple slide bar between the handles of opposite breakers on the
same phase of a load center would prevent them both from being on at the
same time, although there would be no damage to the inverter if both are
energized.
My system uses a little 10 amp octal-base socket relay with the two poles
wired in parallel (shhhhh....) the Trace is programmed to limit the AC 1
current to 12 amps, which is more than enough for my meter spinning
activities, and I *never* really want the SW to do *any* battery charging,
that's what the PV's are for.
