Wrenches;
Hello from the Oregon Country Fair, home of Energy park! Sorry for any
typing or syntax errors, I'm typing fast as I have to make two T-105's in
my RV last for a week with no PV input to speak of...The Trace 812 on board
draws 6.8 amps running the PC and LED monitor, not a lot, but conservation
in the rule.
My 2¢ on the FET discussion:
My SW2512 blew some FETs a couple of years ago operating strictly from
grid power. It would still invert just fine, the loads didn't complain, but
it wouldn't put any charge back into the batteries or feed the grid. Don't
know what the wave form looked like, but I'll bet it was trash. My guess is
that it would depend of which FETs went out, as there are three
transformers in a SW and bad FETs on the small or medium transformer feed
would result in less noticable problems.
To their credit, Trace repaired the inverter, instaiing a new FET board,
new input filtering, load transfer relay panel, and latest version of
software, and had it back in two days!
I'm off the the Trace booth to say hi to Sam Vanderhoof and crew, Bob-o
and Bob-1 say Hi!
Later.
