SW4048 giving me grief [RE-wrenches]

I'd double check the output of the generator (voltage and frequency). 
If the generator's running, it's powering the appliances directly and 
the inverter is simply acting as a battery charger. Generator over or 
under voltage could be frying the cordless chargers. Are they DeWalt 
chargers?

The high battery voltage seems like a separate (inverter setting) 
problem. SW inverter AC output voltage regulation is independent of 
battery voltage, unless there is a HVD or LVD  shutdown condition.
