I have one customer that HATED the sight of the (what I thought were nice looking) Solarex MSX 60 watt blue colored panels. She did NOT want to see them from her home, so the only acceptable location was behind some trees... which blocked about 40% of the sunlight available to them. I think I have her convinced to top the worst tree now which would still provide a visual screen, but not shade the array for so much of the day.
We had many "form over function" discussions, but ultimately it was her system and up to her to spend that kind of money on green power only to shoot herself in the foot with the shading. I think it boils down to the fact that some people just have different priorities, and that has been a valuable lesson for me.
