Generator Fuel Rules of Thumb [RE-wrenches]

Hi,
My inefficient Honda 3.5 kW uses about 3/4 of a gallon per hour.  I think that an awful lot of the
fuel economy of a generator is dependent of the operating rpm.  The older diesels tend to run at
1200-1800 and are quieter, more durable, and fuel efficient.  The screamers, 3600 rpm, tend to be
cheaper up front but they tend to use more fuel per kWh.
